Be Careful Of What You Believe

These days, the media is sending countless inconsistent messages into our society. If the messages were not so inconsistent we wouldn't have a problem but unfortunately that's not the case. As a result so many people are struggling with self esteem and self image issues. One day you eat something and the next day you are told that it is making you fat or affects your memory loss. It's as if nothing is safe to eat. Ask yourself how many times you have heard contradictory messages. Eat chocolate. Don't eat chocolate. Drink three cups of coffee a day, it's good for your memory. Coffee causes cancer. Carbohydrates are bad. Carbohydrates are good. Aspartame is fine .Aspartame causes cancer. It really seems as if the food in our kitchens is killing us and the air outside isn't even that fresh anymore.

How can we fight against this? Well we must learn to block out these messages one by one, we must learn not to take these messages too seriously and learn to enjoy our bodies and enjoy food. How bodies will eventually decay so why not enjoy the richness of it now. The truth is if you know who you are inside than it's easier to resist the outside forces of media from pushing their way inside. Another thing is diets fail, so why does everyone do it? Think about it, if diets worked than everyone would follow the same diet and only need it once. We cannot compare ourselves to people shown on television, many of them are underweight. So let's stand together and make people aware that it's us who has to choose what to believe. So ask yourself, what do you believe?
